Michael Mills, a beloved member of the Philadelphia community, passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on March 23, 1958, in Philadelphia, PA, Michael was the cherished son of Juanita Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita Mills and Leroy Keys, as well as his siblings Leonard, Julia, Beverly, Cheryl, and Denise.
Michael spent his formative years in the Philadelphia Public School system, where he developed lifelong friendships and a love for his hometown. He dedicated his working life to serving his community from behind the counter of a local newspaper stand, where he became a familiar and friendly face to countless residents over the years.
A man of simple pleasures and a generous heart, Michael found great joy in cooking, particularly for his brother Leonard, who he held dear. Known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, he was always on the move, eager to assist anyone in need. Whether running errands or sharing a meal, Michael's warm spirit and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him. An enthusiastic lottery player, his optimism was infectious, and he often shared stories of his dreams and hopes with those around him.
Michael is survived by his loving siblings: Sandra, Calvin (Regine), Sylvia, Stephen, Jacqueline (Antar), Darryl (Elise), Kevin (Rachael), Zena, Clinton (Denita), Marie (Eric), Tonia, and Shelton (Paula). Each of them holds cherished memories of their brother’s laughter, his culinary delights, and his unwavering support.
Friends and family will gather to honor Michael's life on August 24, 2026, at Ivy Hill Cemetery and Crematory, located at 1201 Easton Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19150.
