July 12, 1962 — July 2, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Michael Maxwell French, who departed this world on July 2, 2026, just shy of his 64th birthday. Born on July 12, 1962, in Frederick, Maryland, Michael's life was a testament to love, dedication, and unwavering commitment to family and work. Michael was the cherished son of Jimmie and Mary Jane French, who instilled in him the values of integrity and kindness that he carried throughout his life. He grew up in a loving home alongside his brother, Jimmie French, and sister, Mary Beauchamp, forming bonds that would last a lifetime. A proud graduate of Brunswick High School in the class of 1980, Michael went on to build a remarkable career at Amtrak, dedicating 41 years as an electrical technician and rider. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his commitment to his colleagues and the industry he loved. On August 5, 2005, Michael married the love of his life, Deborah, in Boonsboro, Maryland. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless memories filled with laughter, love, and joy. Michael was a devoted husband and a loving father to his children Mike (Carena), Jeremy (Ashley), and Nikki. He embraced his role as a stepfather to Kimberly Wolfe (Wes) and Rebecca Eichelberger (Kevin Long), nurturing and guiding them with the same love and care. Michael's legacy is carried on by his adored grandchildren: Brayden, Aiden, Gavin, Peyton, Sarah, Grace, Colton, and Skyler, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. He was also blessed with a great-grandson, Cowan Winant, who was a light in his later years. A man of quiet strength and profound wisdom, Michael was a pillar of support to his family and friends. His gentle spirit and kind heart were felt by all who knew him, and his presence will be deeply missed. In remembrance of Michael's generous spirit, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his honor to a charity of your choice, continuing his legacy of compassion and giving. As we say goodbye to Michael, we hold on to the memories that bring us comfort and the love that will remain in our hearts forever. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. A celebration of Michael's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will come together to honor the remarkable man he was. Until then, we find solace in knowing he is at peace and surrounded by the love he so freely gave to others.
