Michael M. Fields, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on September 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 25, 1946, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Michael was the cherished son of Eugene Sandos Fields and Jeanette McDonnel Fields. His life was a testament to faith, love, and laughter. Educated at Beaumont High School, Michael furthered his studies at Lamar University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business. His career as an executive spanned several companies, where he was admired for his leadership and dedication. Michael’s professional life was complemented by his personal commitments as a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, where he found a community that shared his values and beliefs. Michael married the love of his life, Linda Thomasson, on November 24, 1973. Together, they built a family filled with joy and warmth, raising two beloved children, Kristin Hodges (Joseph) and Greg Fields (Ashley). Michael’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, Jonah, Jasper, and Cleo Hodges, and Ainsley and Ellery Fields. He was a devoted grandfather, never missing an opportunity to attend their events and cheer them on in their endeavors. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Michael had the rare gift of making everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Whether sharing a joke or a heartfelt conversation, Michael's presence was a source of comfort and joy. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda, his children and grandchildren, his sister Leah Monticello, his brother John Fields (Talina), sister-in-laws Joan Lisman, Nancy Thomasson and a host of nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers, Charles Lisman and Gene Fields, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. A service to honor and celebrate Michael’s life will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, located at 3471 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77027. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Care, St. Luke’s Methodist Church, and Bradshaw Carter Funeral Home for their compassionate support during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Michael’s memory to Breakthrough T1d, an organization close to their hearts. Michael’s family shares a special message: "May angels' wings watch over all!" His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
