July 17, 1967 — June 19, 2026

It is with heavy hearts but enduring gratitude that we announce the peaceful passing of Michael L. Harris, who left this world on June 19, 2026, at the age of 58, after a courageous battle with heart failure. Born on July 17, 1967, in Norfolk, Virginia, Michael’s life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and resilience. Michael was the beloved son of the late Constance and Arthur Harris, husband to the late Gloria Flora (Harris) and brother to the late Robert Harris. His journey in life was marked by his unwavering devotion to his family and friends, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. Michael's passion for life was matched only by his love for the Dallas Cowboys, a devotion that saw him never miss a game, always cheering (or screaming) with enthusiasm and loyalty. Michael’s presence was a gift to all who knew him. His quick wit and infectious laughter had the magical ability to lighten any room, making every gathering an event to be remembered. Known for his remarkable knack for answering every question on Jeopardy before the contestants could, Michael’s intelligence and humor were undeniable. He is survived by his loving son, Travis Gibbs; his supportive sisters, Tameka Harris and Cynthia Tillett; and his caring brother, Ronald Harris. A host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends also remain to honor his memory and celebrate the joy he brought into their lives. A service to honor Michael’s remarkable life will be held on July 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Graves Funeral Home, located at 1631 Church Street, Norfolk, VA 23504. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the legacy of a man who lived life fully and loved deeply. Though we mourn the absence of Michael from our daily lives, his remarkable legacy of love and laughter will carry forward in the lives of those he cherished most. As his family, we take comfort in the knowledge that his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us, reminding us to cherish every moment and to love without reservation. Michael L. Harris take your rest. You will forever be loved, remembered and deeply missed.
