Michael John Lieb
June 30, 1942 – May 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael John Lieb, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Michael passed away peacefully at his home in Mansfield, Georgia, on May 24, 2026, with his devoted wife of 63 years, Lucille, tenderly by his side.
Michael was born on June 30, 1942, in Mansfield, Georgia, to John and Hazel Lieb. He was the cherished brother to his late sisters Carole Wilhelm and Anita Long, and his late brothers Thomas, Stephen, and Mark Lieb. He is survived by his loving siblings John Lieb, Joe Lieb (Pam), Jim Lieb (Paula), Pat Lieb (Chris), and Mary Lieb (Lanny), all of whom held him dear in their hearts.
In 1962, he married the love of his life, Lucille Ann Jones, and together they built a beautiful family and shared a lifetime of memories. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Michael was a proud and loving father to his sons, Michael Lieb (Lisa) and Todd Lieb. He found immense joy in the lives of his six grandchildren, Tracy (Brandon), Erin (Justin), Megan, Miranda (Zach), TJ, and Kyle, and his three great-grandchildren, Weston, Theodore, and Sally. Each of them was a source of pride and happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Michael's professional journey saw him contribute significantly to his community through his work at Acme, USPS, and Tesoro. His dedication and work ethic left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
In his leisure time, Michael was an avid golfer, finding peace and camaraderie on the greens. Yet, it was his family to whom he dedicated most of his time and heart. Whether attending his grandchildren's events or sharing stories and laughter around the dinner table, Michael's presence was a warm and comforting constant in the lives of those he loved.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Michael's life, allowing those closest to him to reflect on the wonderful memories they shared. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made in Michael's name to a charity of your choice, keeping his spirit of generosity alive.
Michael John Lieb's legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew him. His life was a testament to the values he held dear, and he leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and boundless love. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal embrace of those who went before him.
