December 6, 1961 — October 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Jerome O'Leary, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Michael passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 64, due to a pulmonary embolism. Born in Janesville, Wisconsin on December 6, 1961, Michael was the seventh son of Thomas and Colleen O'Leary. Michael's life was characterized by his unwavering devotion to his family and his zest for life's adventures. He married his high school sweetheart, Nannette (Nan), in 1981, and together they built a strong, loving family over their 45 years of marriage. Michael was a steadfast partner to Nan, especially during her courageous battle with cancer, demonstrating his deep loyalty and commitment through every challenge. He was a devoted father to two children, Abby O'Leary (Patrick Hammond) and Adam (Samantha) O'Leary, and a proud grandfather to six wonderful grandchildren: William, Grey, Owen, Amelia, Zoe, and Jade. His family was the center of his world, and he delighted in every moment spent with them. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his siblings Pat (Clara), Chuck (Nancy), Tom (Barbra), Steve (Doreen), Jeff (Bobbie), and his many adored nieces and nephews. Michael was a graduate of Parker High School, Class of 1980. He began a career at General Motors and retired after 34 years from the Corvette Assembly Plant in 2019. An avid traveler, Michael had a passion for exploring new places and experiencing the beauty of the world. His love for gardening brought him great joy, as did his enthusiasm for holiday decorations and antique shopping. Michael's vibrant spirit and eagerness to embrace life's wonders were truly infectious. Friends and family will gather to celebrate Michael's life with a visitation and mass on October 23, 2026, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Bowling Green, KY. 4754 Smallhouse Road Bowling Green, KY 42104. Visitation will be 10:00am to 1:00pm with a Catholic Mass to follow at 1:00pm. We invite all who knew and loved Michael to join us in honoring his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to his heart. Michael will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
