Michael James Drake

Micheal James Drake, of Williston, Florida, passed away on July 2, 2026, at the age of 63. He was born on August 5, 1962, In Grand Rapids, Michigan, to John Robert Drake and Jacqueline Driscoll Drake. Mike was a skilled framer by trade and the proud owner of Quality Framing & Interior, Inc. He took great pride in his work and built a reputation for quality craftsmanship throughout his career. In addition to being the best potato salad and goulash maker, he also enjoyed anything outdoors, including, riding ATV's, mudding, boating, and making memories with those he loved. Above all else, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Mike was a proud and devoted father to (Daughter) Summer McAdams (Ric), (Son) Michael Torrenaga, (Daughter) Danyelle Eckert (Mark). (Daughter) Heather Joseph (Blaze), (Daughter) Kellie Scott (James). And (Son) Jeremy Drake (Crystal). He was a loving papa to 17 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He is survived by his children; grandchildren; great grandchildren; his sister Carolyn Reisman; and his significant other, Tanya Alford, along with her family. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory. Mike was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Sherrie Ann Sheppard Drake, in 2019, his parents, John Robert & Jacqueline Driscoll Drake' His brothers, John & Thomas Drake; His sister, Deborah Hatt; and his mother in law, Sally Ann Sheppard. Mike will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, generous heart, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched, and he will be missed deeply by all who knew & loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Michael James Drake to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to support children battling leukemia and other life threating illnesses.
