Michael J. Stephan, a resident of Forest Park, Illinois passed away at the age of 68. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 28, 1958, He was the cherished son of Robert and Doloras Stephan, both of whom predeceased him, along with his beloved wife, Carol (Donatelli) Stephan, and his brother, Robert Stephan.
Michael dedicated his professional life to the restaurant and catering industry, passions that were deeply interwoven with his personal love for cooking. Whether experimenting with new recipes, preparing festive holiday meals, participating in the soup contest in the neighborhood or sharing new creations with friends and neighbors, Michael found joy and fulfillment in the kitchen.
Beyond his professional achievements, Michael was a man of simple pleasures and profound connections. He enjoyed being home and the favorite time of the year was the summer months, spending countless hours grilling, tending to his vegetable garden, and attending the neighborhood pool. His favorite places to vacation were New Orleans Florida and Mexico.
Michael was known for his quiet demeanor and was a good listener. He treasured the time spent with family, creating lasting memories with his surviving siblings, William (Sally) Stephan and Jeffrey Stephan, and In-laws, Cathy and David Slack. He also leaves behind his nephews, Paul Alvarado and Harold (Aubrey) Alvarado, along with a large extended family that will forever hold him close in their hearts.
In honoring Michael's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago, Illinois, an organization close to Michael's heart.
