It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Michael Green, a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, on April 27, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on July 16, 1959, in Bluefield, West Virginia, Michael's life was a testament to kindness, loyalty, and unwavering spirit. Preceded in death by his parents, Phillip H. and Louise Green, and siblings Phillip H. Green, Jr. and Phyllis Y. Green, Michael's journey through life was deeply intertwined with the love and memories of those who went before him. He is survived by his devoted sister, Gwendolyn Y. DeJarnett, his brother Richard A. Green, and his cherished Aunt Helen B. Ling of Bronx, New York. Michael's legacy of warmth and humor will be carried forward by a host of nieces, cousins, and countless friends whose lives he touched. Michael's educational journey began at Central High School, from which he graduated in 1977. Professionally, he dedicated much of his life to working as a general laborer, a role in which his reliability and strong work ethic shone brightly. Though he never married, Michael's extended family and network of friends provided him with a rich tapestry of love and companionship throughout his life. As a teenager, Michael found camaraderie and lifelong friendships at the Milo Grogan Boys Club, where he was an active and cherished member. Music was one of Michael's great passions, and alongside his brothers, he played the drums in their band, creating joyful memories that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. An ardent supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Michael's enthusiasm for the team was infectious, and he relished every opportunity to cheer them on. Michael was a man of wit and charm, known for his generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. His life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact of a friendly smile. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and love that will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Michael's life will be held on May 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Caliman Funeral Services, located at 3700 Refugee Road, Columbus, Ohio 43232.
