February 26, 1963 — May 20, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Frank Dunne, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed from this world on May 20, 2026, at the age of 63. Michael was born on February 26, 1963, in the serene town of White Lake, Michigan, to Mary Nichols, who preceded him in death. Michael's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love. A skilled mechanic by trade, he spent most of his life surrounded by the hum of engines and the scent of motor oil. His passion for working on cars was not just a job; it was a calling that he embraced wholeheartedly, finding joy in every challenge a vehicle presented. He believed that a well-tuned engine was akin to a well-lived life – both requiring patience, care, and a little bit of elbow grease. Beyond his professional life, Michael was a man of varied interests. He found solace in the great outdoors, whether it was casting a line into a tranquil lake or trekking through the woods during hunting season. His fascination with outer space spoke to his boundless curiosity and desire to explore the unknown, while his love for nature grounded him in the beauty of the world around him. At home, he cherished his feline companions, who were always by his side, offering comfort and companionship. Michael was a pillar of strength and warmth for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathie Dunne, and his children, Jon Michael Dunne, Austin Lee Dunne, Brooke Rose Miller, and Brandi Rae Dunne, who were the pride and joy of his life. His legacy lives on in his 14 grandchildren, each carrying a piece of his spirit forward into the future. Family was everything to Michael. He cherished every gathering, every cookout, every moment spent surrounded by those he loved. His home was a place of laughter, love, and delicious aromas wafting from the grill as he delighted in bringing people together. His warmth and hospitality made everyone feel welcome, and his infectious laughter could brighten the darkest of days. In addition to his mother, Michael was predeceased by his brother, Mark Dunne, and his sister, Brenda Dunne Hall, with whom he shared countless cherished memories. Though they have departed, the bonds of family remain unbroken, woven into the fabric of his life and the lives of those who survive him. Michael's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever be a guiding light for those who knew and loved him. His life was a testament to the simple pleasures – a well-tuned engine, a day spent fishing, and the love of family. As we say goodbye, let us celebrate the remarkable life he led and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. A memorial service to honor Michael's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family can gather to share stories, offer support, and remember a man who was truly one of a kind. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Michael's name, celebrating his generous spirit and love for the world around him.
