Michael Edward Reed

June 14, 1964 — February 20, 2026

Michael Edward Reed, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on June 14, 1964, in Ripley, Tennessee, Mike was the cherished son of Ms. Barbara Elaine Bullington and the late Charles Edward Reed. Mike's life was a testament to the values of hard work, family, and community. A dedicated farmer for many years, he cultivated not just crops but also deep roots in the community he called home. His passion for the land was matched only by his love for the Mississippi River, where he spent countless hours riding the bottoms and taking in the serene beauty of the flowing water, a place where he found peace and reflection. Hunting and fishing were more than mere hobbies for Mike; they were a way of life. They provided him with cherished moments of solitude and the joy of camaraderie with friends and family. Those who were fortunate enough to share these experiences with him will forever remember the laughter, the stories told, and the warmth of his spirit. Mike's family was the heart of his existence. He adored his children, Amanda "Edward" Sielier of Ohio and Chad (Dawn) Reed of Ripley, TN, with every fiber of his being. He was also the proud grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Whether it was a family gathering or a simple meal together, Mike cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved, filling the room with his infectious laughter and kind-hearted nature. In addition to his mother, Barbara Bullington, and his children, Mike is survived by his devoted sisters, Debbie Pipkin and Cathy Lynch, both of Ripley, TN, who stood by him with unwavering support and love throughout his life. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on March 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at New Hope Methodist Church, located at 3918 Edith Nankipoo Rd, Ripley, TN 38063. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor the remarkable life of a man whose legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him. As we mourn the loss of Michael Edward Reed, we also celebrate the profound impact he had on our lives. His spirit will forever remain in the laughter of his grandchildren, the stories shared among friends, and the gentle rustle of the Mississippi River, which he loved so dearly. May his memory be a blessing to all who had the privilege to know him.
