It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael E. Harrison, who departed this life on March 27, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on February 28, 1957, in Kingston, NY, Michael's life was a tapestry of devotion, service, and love, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Michael was the cherished son of the late Harrold J. Harrison and Joyce B. Harrison, who instilled in him the values of integrity and compassion that he carried throughout his life. A proud alumnus of Saugerties High School, Class of 1975, Michael went on to serve his country with distinction, joining the Army Reserves just days after graduation. His dedication to service was further exemplified by his 38-year tenure in the U.S. Army Reserves and Air National Guard, where he attained the esteemed rank of Chief Master Sergeant before his retirement on April 25, 2013. In his professional life, Michael excelled as a vehicle mechanic and later as the vehicle maintenance manager, where he was known for his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Beyond his career, Michael was an active participant in his community, contributing his time and talents to the Boy Scouts of America, the Vly Sportsman Club, and American Legion Post 1219. Michael's love for the great outdoors was evident in his passions for hunting and fishing, activities he often enjoyed with family and friends. His skillful hands crafted beautiful woodworking projects that adorned the homes of many loved ones, each piece reflecting his creativity and care. On October 20, 1979, in Kingston, NY, Michael married the love of his life, Patricia, embarking on a journey together that spanned 47 years. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, characterized by laughter, mutual support, and a deep commitment to family. Together, they raised two sons, Joseph and Joshua, in Tillson, NY. Michael was a man of incredible warmth and humor, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood and bring a smile to those around him. His generosity and willingness to lend a hand were legendary, and his playful teasing was a testament to the deep affection he held for his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Patricia; his sons, Joseph Harrison and Joshua (Christina) Harrison; his adored grandson, Silas Harrison; and his sisters, Patricia (Edward) Harris, Nancy (Floyd) Scott, and Linda (Ron) Brown. Michael's legacy also lives on in the hearts of his extensive family, including 28 nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. A service to celebrate Michael's life will be held on April 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, located at 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401. Family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to honor the memory of this remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and community. As we bid farewell to Michael, we remember a life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a legacy that will endure in the stories and memories shared by those he leaves behind.
