Harrison peacefully departed this world on March 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication. Born on a crisp winter day in Kingston, NY, to Harrold J. Harrison and Joyce B. Harrison, Michael was a beacon of warmth and humor to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Michael's journey began in Saugerties, where he graduated from Saugerties High School in 1975. Shortly thereafter, he embarked on a distinguished career in the military, joining the Army Reserves on February 9, 1975. Over the next 38 years, he served his country with honor and distinction, rising to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant before retiring on April 25, 2013. His career as a vehicle maintenance manager with the Army Reserves and Air National Guard was marked by dedication and expertise, embodying a spirit of service that inspired all those around him. On October 20, 1979, Michael married the love of his life, Patricia, in Kingston, NY. Together, they built a loving home in Tillson, NY, raising two sons, Joseph and Joshua, surrounded by laughter and love. Their union, characterized by unwavering support and partnership, spanned 47 wonderful years. Michael was a devoted father and grandfather, cherishing his time with his sons, Joseph and Joshua (Christina), and his beloved grandson, Silas. His family was his pride and joy, and he delighted in every moment spent with them, often lightening the mood with his quick-witted jokes and playful teasing. An active member of the Boy Scouts of America, the Vly Sportsman Club, and the American Legion Post 1219, Michael was deeply committed to his community. His passion for hunting, fishing, and woodworking reflected his love for nature and craftsmanship. Whether he was building a new project or casting a line into a quiet stream, Michael found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Michael's generous spirit extended beyond his immediate family to his sisters, Patricia (Edward) Harris, Nancy (Floyd) Scott, and Linda (Ron) Brown, his sister-in-law Kathy (Wayne) Closi, and his 22 nieces and nephews. His presence was a source of strength and support, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a hearty laugh. He is predeceased by his cherished parents, Harrold J. Harrison and Joyce B. Harrison, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. A service to celebrate Michael's life will be held on April 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Henry J Bruck Funeral Home, located at 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401. Family, friends, and community members are invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose life was defined by love, laughter, and service. Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we take comfort in knowing that Michael's legacy of kindness and humor will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he touched. Rest in peace, dear Michael, knowing your spirit lives on in the stories and memories we hold dear.
