Michael Anthony Hobbs

Michael Anthony Hobbs, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on September 3, 2026, after a courageous 2.5-year battle with cancer. Born on August 26, 1964, in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, Michael was the cherished son of Terry and Rosemary. Michael's journey in life took him from Etobicoke to Tallahassee, Florida, where he graduated from high school in 1983. It was in Tallahassee that he met the love of his life, Robyn, and they wed on March 27, 1992. Together, they built a beautiful life, welcoming two daughters, Jessica and Kristen, who were the light of Michael's life. Michael's family grew with the birth of his adored grandson, Milo, who brought him immense joy. In 1997, Michael embarked on a fulfilling career at Peek Traffic Company, where he initially worked as a wire technician for traffic control cabinets. Through dedication and hard work, he rose to the position of vice president of operations, a role he held until 2014. He continued to share his expertise in various managerial positions with companies local to Palmetto, Florida. Michael was a man of many passions. He found solace in the tranquility of fishing and cherished moments spent on a quiet creek with family. His hands were often busy with woodworking projects, and his mind was ever-engaged in solving crossword puzzles. Michael also enjoyed watching football with his family, cheering on the FSU Seminoles. Michael's vast knowledge lead him to be someone who could talk to anyone about anything. A voracious reader, Michael also delighted in sharing his culinary creations, both in cooking and baking, with those he loved. Known for his quick wit and earnest nature, Michael was a problem solver at heart. His ability to bring levity to any situation and his unwavering commitment to those around him left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Robyn, his daughters, Jessica and Kristen, and his grandson, Milo. He also leaves behind his loving siblings, Jim, Teresa, Mark, and Tad; and his mother and father, Terry and Rosemary, who will forever cherish his memory. The Hobbs family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff and doctors at the Florida Cancer Institute for their support and care during Michael's illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael's memory to the American Cancer Society, honoring his courageous fight against cancer. Michael's legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.
