Michael Charles Jensen

Michael Jensen, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on September 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion. Born on February 15, 1952, in Portland, Maine, Michael was the beloved son of the late Charles and Mary Jensen. He was raised in Portland, where he attended local schools and began to cultivate the values and interests that would shape his life. Michael married the love of his life, Bette, in September 1979, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together that spanned 47 cherished years. Their marriage was one filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Trina and Joshua who were the source of pride and joy for Michael. As a grandfather, he was blessed with five grandchildren: Evan, Elizabeth, Kaleb, Victoria, and Liam, each of whom he adored and treasured deeply. Michael's career, working with companies such as Warren Bros, Tilcon, and Pike Industries, was marked by dedication and skill. His hard work and commitment were not only evident in his professional life but also in his personal passions. Michael had a profound love for the outdoors and found great joy in camping trips with his family. He took pride in maintaining his garden and relished the simple pleasure of completing word search puzzles. Known for his kind and gentle nature, Michael had an innate ability to make those around him feel valued and loved. His affection extended to all creatures, as he held a special place in his heart for animals. Michael's warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Michael is survived by his beloved wife Bette, children Trina Jensen and Joshua Jensen, grandchildren Evan, Elizabeth, Kaleb, Victoria, and Liam, sister Noreen Jensen, and brother John Jensen, nieces, nephews and cousins. Though he is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mary Jensen, their love and teachings live on through him. A celebration of life to honor Michael's life will be held on October 9, 2026, at 4 PM to 8 pm at the VFW Portland, located at 687 Forest Ave, Portland. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Michael's memory. The Jensen family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shared in Michael's life and offered their support during this difficult time. "We will truly miss him.
