Michael Yacobucci

March 22, 1959 — August 24, 2026

Michael Yacobucci passed away unexpectedly at his home in Raleigh, NC on August 24, 2026. His sudden departure has left his family and friends in profound sorrow, as they remember the warmth and kindness that characterized his life. The son of Paul and Jacqueline Yacobucci, Michael was born on March 22, 1959, at a US Army Hospital in Munich, Germany. Michael was a beloved brother to Michele Parsons and her husband, Tom Parsons, and a cherished uncle to his nephews, Moxie and Zebbe, and nieces, Jessica and Amanda, as well as their spouses and children. Though never married, Michael found great joy in his family, particularly in spending time with his nieces and nephews, who affectionately called him "Uncle Mike." Michael was predeceased by his father, Paul Yacobucci, yet he leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that continues to thrive through his surviving family members, including his devoted mother, Jacque. Educated at Pine Forest High School, West Carolina University, and Fayetteville Technical Community College, Michael was a committed learner who took pride in his professional life. He spent his last years working as a commercial electrician for the City of Raleigh, where his hard work and expertise were deeply valued by colleagues and the community alike. Michael's life was enriched by the simple pleasures of family gatherings, where he reveled in the laughter and company of his loved ones. His gentle spirit and generous heart were felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him. As an avid NC State fan, Michael loved anything wolf related and enjoyed the family nickname of “The Old Gray Wolf.” Michael was also a prolific reader and had enough books in his humble abode to fill a public library. In honor of Michael's life and the values he held dear, donations may be made in his memory to Tunnel to Towers, an organization that supports veterans, first responders, and their families, or donations to the National Rifle Association (NRA) of which he was a lifetime member. The family takes comfort in knowing that contributions will help continue the work of a cause that was meaningful to Michael. As we bid farewell to Michael, we celebrate the life of a man who gave so much to those around him. His memory will forever be held in the hearts of his family and friends, who strive to carry forward his legacy of kindness, love, and unwavering dedication to family.
