Dear Mitchell
So often before a person dies we never get to say to them what's truly in our heart and how we honestly feel about them. Maybe we think we have time. Maybe we just don't want to go all emotional or get too sappy. But whatever the case, sometimes we experience regret that we didn't let our loved one know how we felt about them before it was too late. And this time is no different. We know Mitchell is at rest. The scriptures say he's sleeping. How thankful we are that Jehovah is the Supreme Judge and that Mitchell's life is in the best place it can be, in Jehovah's loving hands! But if I did have an opportunity to have one last conversation with Mitchell before he took his last breath, I think I would say something like this... Mitchell, you are very much loved. I hope you never doubt that. Sometimes your eyes seem to wondered if I was judging you. I was not. Do we lead vastly different lives? Absolutely! Do we have the same taste in entertainment and friends? Not by a long shot! Do we even have similar religious beliefs? We couldn't possibly because you are not a religious person. Still, you respected our religious beliefs. You never opposed us or your mother. In fact, you reminded your mother about her meetings if it appeared she was running late. So just to clarify...We may not have agreed with each other's lifestyle, but we are family and we love our family. That includes you! You were always kind and nice and respectful. Even hilarious at times. Anyway, just in case you had any doubts, I just wanted you to know that you are dearly loved. Remember, there's a huge difference between loving you while not loving the things you do. Please always remember the difference. In the new world, we will all live by one standard - Jehovah's. Until then, please rest...knowing your family dearly loves you!
