Born on June 4, 1952, in El Cajon, California, Melynda lived a life filled with laughter, love, and unwavering generosity, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Melynda was the cherished daughter of the late Barney and Dorothy Ruiz. She is predeceased by her loving parents, her beloved son Mack Rue Jr., her brother Bob Crowe, and her devoted husband, Donald Smith. In her passing, she leaves behind a legacy of resilience and unconditional love. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Tammera Petrick, and her caring son-in-law, Dave Petrick. Melynda's heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren: Brianna Hernandez, Mack Rue Jr., AJ Hernandez, Devyn Hernandez, Noah Petrick, and Jacub Petrick, as well as her great-grandchild, Rhea Hernandez. Her family was her pride and joy, and she found immense happiness in their presence. A woman of many talents and interests, Melynda had a passion for sewing, often creating beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her family for years to come. She delighted in her visits to Las Vegas casinos, where she created lasting memories with her friends. An active member of the American Legion Post 91, Melynda was known for her quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. Her kindness and generosity touched many lives, and she will be remembered for the joy she brought into the world. The family invites you to join them in celebrating Melynda's life on July 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257. It will be a time to honor the vibrant spirit of a woman who gave so much of herself to others. Melynda's laughter, warmth, and boundless love will be greatly missed but forever cherished.
