Melvin Ray Hufford, a husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 49 at the St. Louis University Hospital. Born on April 9, 1977, in Dunklin County, Melvin graced the world with his infectious laughter and generous spirit. Melvin leaves behind his wife Megan and the lives of his children: Logan, Brett, Corbin, Zaydenn, and his beloved stepdaughter, Kaitlynn. His parents, Carol and Melvin Hufford, remember him as a devoted son who brought endless joy to their lives. As a brother, Melvin was a source of strength and laughter for his siblings: Jack, Brandon, Cherri, Jonie, Victoria, and his sister-in-law Vanessa. He was the kind of person who could light up a room with his humor and warmth, always ready with joking around to lift spirits and a helping hand to offer. His laugh was contagious, a melody that will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Melvin's life was a testament to the power of love and laughter. He was known for his huge heart, always ready to help others in any way he could. His playful spirit and ability to make those around him laugh was a gift that he shared generously. A big kid at heart, Melvin delighted in playfully teasing his children, and others filling their lives with laughter and joy. The love he had for his family and friends was unwavering and unconditional. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on October 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Bernie Park, located on Highway 25 in Bernie, Missouri. Friends and family are invited to gather together to remember and celebrate the precious life of Cricket. Melvin was able to give a gift of life as his ended because he was an organ donor, and he was able to donate both his kidneys to two Tennessee men that were on dialysis. With his generous gift of life part of him will live on to help others live a better life.
