Melody Sparks
June 15, 2003 — May 8, 2017
With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Melody Sparks, who left this world far too soon on May 8, 2017, at the tender age of 13. Born on June 15, 2003, in Bayonne, New Jersey, Melody was a beacon of light to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her sudden departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.
Melody was a vibrant young soul with an infectious enthusiasm for life. Her vivacious spirit was evident in her love for swimming, where she would often be found gliding through the water with grace and joy. Melody’s laughter was never more heartfelt than when she was surrounded by her friends, sharing stories and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
A truly festive spirit, Melody adored the magic of Halloween, delighting in the chance to dress up and embrace the playful spirit of the holiday. St. Patrick’s Day was another of her favorites, as she would don her green attire and revel in the joy and camaraderie it brought.
Melody's family was the center of her universe. She was the cherished daughter of the late Julianna Newton and Reed Sparks, and the beloved sister to her predeceased siblings, Malakai, Xavier, Cameron, and River Sparks. Her grandparents, Kirsten Esellman and Liam Newton, and Vanna and William Sparks, also predeceased her, and we find solace in the thought that Melody is now with them, embraced in their eternal love.
The Sparks family invites all who knew Melody to join them in celebrating her life and the joy she brought to this world. A service will be held on May 16, 2017, at 1:00 PM to honor her memory and the indelible impact she made during her short but meaningful life.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember Melody's radiant smile and the way she could light up a room with her presence. Though our hearts are heavy, we carry forward the love and laughter she shared with us, a testament to the remarkable young lady she was.
