Melissa Frost Henson, cherished wife, devoted mother, and beloved member of the Blythewood community, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at the age of 50. She was surrounded by her loving family, having bravely faced a battle with cancer. Melissa's grace, courage, and unwavering spirit were evident throughout her life, leaving a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on December 7, 1975, in Blythewood, South Carolina, Melissa was the treasured daughter of Thomas Henry Frost and Cathy Denise Bruce Frost. From an early age, she demonstrated a remarkable kindness and strength that would become her hallmark. Melissa was a proud graduate of Great Falls High School in 1994. Her passion for caring for others led her to pursue nursing, attending USC Upstate and later Midlands Technical College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing. Her dedication to her profession was furthered as she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Registered Nursing from South University. Melissa's commitment to her faith and community was evident through her active membership at Trinity United Methodist Church in Blythewood, SC. Her warm smile and generous spirit were constants within the congregation, where she found solace and strength amid life's challenges. Melissa's family was the center of her world. She was the adored wife of Van Henson, who held her hand through every joy and trial. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, including their children Bryce Henson of Little River, SC, Harper Henson of Blythewood, SC, and Kimberly Kirchenbauer (Adam) of Goose Creek, SC. Her love and devotion to her family were boundless and unwavering. In addition to her immediate family, Melissa is survived by her in-laws, Tommy and Ann Henson of Great Falls, SC, and her brother-in-law, Eric Henson (Tonya), also of Great Falls, SC. She cherished her role as an aunt to her nephew, Connor Henson, and niece, Kenley Henson, both of Great Falls, SC. Melissa's heart was expansive, embracing not only her family but also her community and friends. As we celebrate Melissa's life, we remember a woman of incredible warmth and compassion. Her legacy is one of love, service, and resilience. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate to share in her journey. Friends and family are invited to honor Melissa's life at a memorial service held at Trinity United Methodist Church, where her presence will be forever missed but always felt. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to organizations dedicated to cancer research, in hopes of bringing light and hope to others facing similar battles. Melissa Frost Henson will be remembered for her unwavering courage, her boundless love, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. She will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light and a cherished soul.
