Melissa Farmer

February 3, 1970 — June 20, 2026

Melissa Farmer, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 20, 2026, following a brief yet courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 3, 1970, in Atlanta, GA, Melissa lived a life woven with resilience, love, and an unwavering spirit that touched all who knew her. Melissa was the cherished daughter of Michael and Martha Farmer. She was predeceased by her father, Michael, whose memory she carried with her throughout her life. Melissa is survived by her devoted mother, Martha, who was her rock and constant source of strength. Graduating from Druid Hills High School in 1988, Melissa set out on a journey marked by dedication and care. For two decades, she served with compassion and integrity at HCR Manor Care, where her commitment to her work and colleagues was both respected and admired. She retired in 2020, amid the global turbulence of the pandemic, having made a lasting impact on her workplace and the lives of those she touched. In her personal life, Melissa was known for her charismatic presence and a love for life that was infectious. She had a unique way of offering guidance through "tough love," a testament to her ability to speak truth with kindness—always grounded in love. She was a sister in spirit to many, offering friendship and wisdom to those around her. Melissa shared a devoted, nearly decade-long relationship with Horace Nunn. Together, they celebrated the milestones of their adult children, Kayla and Akeem, and Michael and Shakita, supporting them as they embarked on their own journeys of family and love. As a grandmother, Melissa's heart was filled with joy and pride for her grandchildren, Kai, Harper, and Carter, who brought her endless delight. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Melinda and Melody, who shared in her life’s joys and challenges, and her extended family, who will forever cherish her memory. A service to honor and celebrate Melissa's life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Boston-Hill Funeral & Cremation Service, located at 5644 Memorial Dr, Stone Mountain, GA 30083. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Melissa's memory. Melissa’s family extends their deepest gratitude to all friends and loved ones who have offered their support, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time. As Kayla expressed, "Your continued prayers, support, and kind words truly helped us navigate this journey. Thank you all." Melissa Farmer’s legacy of love, resilience, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of many will forever be remembered and cherished.
