In Loving Memory

Mekhi L Lowry
October 5, 2007 — March 10, 2026
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mekhi L. Lowry, a cherished son, brother, husband, and friend, whose vibrant spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Mekhi was born on October 5, 2007, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and his life, though tragically cut short on March 10, 2026, was filled with moments that will be treasured forever by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mekhi was the beloved son of Michael Lowry and Tiffany Mixon, who nurtured his innate leadership qualities and compassionate nature from a young age. He grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, including six devoted brothers and two caring sisters, who were his lifelong companions and confidants. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he carried their love with him in every endeavor.
A proud graduate of Baldwin High School, Mekhi excelled both academically and athletically, playing on the football team where he formed bonds of brotherhood with his teammates. His passion for sports extended beyond his high school years as he became a dedicated boxing coach, imparting not only skills but also valuable life lessons to the young athletes he mentored.
In July 2025, Mekhi married the love of his life, creating a new chapter filled with dreams and shared aspirations. Though their time together was brief, their love was deep and unwavering, a testament to Mekhi's capacity for devotion and joy.
Mekhi's commitment to serving others was evident in his career choices. He proudly served alongside the United States Marine Corps, where his leadership and courage were recognized and respected. Following his military service, he continued to protect and serve his community by working in law enforcement, where his sense of justice and fairness shone through every action.
Mekhi was not only a protector but also a beacon of laughter and warmth. Known for his remarkable sense of humor, he could light up any room with his infectious smile and quick wit. His caring nature and ability to connect with people from all walks of life made him a friend to many and a confidant to those in need.
Though Mekhi's life was tragically ended by violence, his legacy of kindness, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. As we remember Mekhi, we celebrate a life filled with purpose and passion, a life that touched others profoundly and left the world a better place.
A memorial service will be held to honor Mekhi's memory, where family and friends will gather to share stories and celebrate the joy he brought into their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to organizations supporting youth boxing programs, a cause close to Mekhi's heart.
Mekhi L. Lowry will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him to lead with kindness and love, just as he did.
