Meghan Nicole Hamel

It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of Meghan Nicole Hamel, a spirited and beloved young woman on September 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on October 24, 2003, in Plainview, NY, Meghan was a vibrant presence in the lives of all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of Kathy and Tom Hamel, who will forever hold her in their hearts. Though predeceased by her dear brother, James Nunziata, who she loved and missed so dearly, Meghan is survived by her loving family, including Pete Pastor, affectionately known as "Steppy," her dear brother, Thomas Hamel, her sister-in-law Amanda Hamel, her big sister by choice Jennifer Geremia, and her nephews Brett and Jax Schlowinski. Together, they will carry forward her memory, celebrating the beautiful soul she was. A graduate of Island Trees High School in Levittown, NY, Meghan dedicated her time to nurturing young minds as a Teacher's Assistant at Maple Wood and as a Teacher at Living Faith Sunday School. Her passion for service extended beyond her work, as she was an active and devoted member of the Living Faith Christian Church community leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and strength. Her life was a testament to resilience and love, qualities that were evident in everything she did. Her love for nature was profound, and she found peace in walks at local parks and by the lake, often accompanied by her cherished family members and friends. Meghan delighted in the simple pleasures of life, from watching movies with a warm cup of tea to dancing and singing with boundless energy. Her passion for fashion and beauty was evident in her love for makeup and clothes, and she was especially fond of shopping, butterflies and flowers. Meghan was one of a kind, a woman of wit and warmth, known for her sharp humor and sassy spirit. She possessed an unmatched fierceness, always ready to stand up for herself and those she loved. Her presence was magnetic, leaving a lasting imprint on everyone she met. Despite her bold exterior, Meghan wore her heart on her sleeve, loving deeply and wholeheartedly. A service to honor Meghan's life will be held on September 28, 2026, 4:00-9:00pm at Frederick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home located at 20 Hicksville Road, Bethpage NY 11714. A funeral service to follow September 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Living Faith Christian Church, located at 25 Hempstead Turnpike, Farmingdale, NY 11758. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
