In Loving Memory of Megan Sullivan
Megan Sullivan, a spirited and vibrant soul, was born on June 19, 1986, in Omaha, Nebraska. She departed this world tragically on September 22, 2026, after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. Though her passing was sudden, her impact on those around her will be remembered and cherished forever.
Megan was raised by her devoted mother, Cheryl Bruce, and her late father, Douglas Squires, whose Nebraska pride and zest for life she shared deeply. Megan was predeceased by her father and her beloved son, James Sullivan, as well as her maternal grandparents. Her heart was large, and she was the caring mother of Kashton and Loyalty, who were the light of her life. She is also lovingly survived by her siblings Tara and DJ Squires and younger sister Katie Stafford. Her family extended to include her adoring nieces Arianna, Carmen, and Bella, and her nephews Jayden, Jaxen, Hunter, Matthew, Devon, and Jameson. Megan's circle of love and friendship reached far and wide, including her dear friends in Dallas, Texas.
Although Megan left school in the 11th grade, she chose to blaze her own path, finding that the conventional route wasn't meant for someone as unique as she was. Her career as a stay-at-home mom was her true calling, and she embraced this role with dedication and love. Megan had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel special and loved, be it through her passion for crafting, her talent for hair styling, or the warmth of the crocheted blankets she lovingly made for family and friends.
Known for her outgoing nature and boundless energy, Megan was always eager to embrace new experiences. Her blunt honesty was a testament to her authenticity, and her love for the ocean and sea turtles was a reflection of her deep connection to nature. As a proud Nebraska fan, she celebrated her father's legacy with enthusiasm and pride.
Megan's family extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported them during this difficult time. Special gratitude is given to Meagen Ashley Long, whose swift actions exemplified true friendship and compassion in Megan's final moments.
Megan's legacy will continue through the lives she touched with her kindness, creativity, and genuine spirit. In her memory, those who wish may consider making a donation to a cause close to Megan's heart or a charity of their choice.
Service Program
As I Sit in Heaven
As I sit in heaven
and watch you everyday,
I try to let you know with signs
I never went away.
I hear you when you're laughing
and watch you as you sleep.
I even place my arms around you
to calm you as you weep.
I see you wish the days away,
begging to have me home.
So I try to send you signs
so you know you are not alone.
Don't feel guilty that you have
life that was denied to me.
Heaven is truly beautiful,
just you wait and see.
So live your life, laugh again,
enjoy yourself, be free.
Then I know with every breath you take,
you'll be taking one for me.
