Megan Halverson
January 7, 1988 — June 27, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Megan Halverson, who departed this world on June 27, 2026. Born on January 7, 1988, in the warm embrace of Bartow, Florida, Megan was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Megan was the cherished daughter of Charles and Tammy Nyland, who nurtured her generous spirit and artistic soul. She was a sister to Jeffery Nyland, alongside his wife Megan, and to Katelyn Williams, with her husband Joe, as well as to Brittney Nyland. Her family was her life's greatest treasure, and her bond with each of them was a testament to her nurturing nature.
Megan met and married the love of her life, Justin Halverson, with whom she built a beautiful life filled with laughter and shared dreams. Together, they were blessed with three wonderful children: Makayla, Leah, and Brody, whom Megan adored with every fiber of her being. She was a devoted mother who spent countless hours crafting and creating, making bows and cups, and finding joy in every moment spent with her children.
A graduate with a certificate in early childhood education, Megan was a natural leader and a beloved teacher at a local daycare. Her passion for teaching and her gentle, loving demeanor left an indelible mark on the lives of all the young ones she guided and inspired. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of positivity and a source of endless creativity.
Though her family and friends deeply feel her loss, Megan's spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Joe Dennis and Charles Victor Nyland, whose memories she cherished dearly. She is survived by her grandmothers, Sharon Nyland and Linda Dennis, who were pillars of strength and wisdom in her life.
Megan's compassionate nature extended beyond her family and career. She was always there for everybody, a friend in times of need, and a source of comfort and strength. Her generous heart knew no bounds, and she approached life with an unmatched zest and a twinkle in her eye.
In this time of mourning, the Halverson and Nyland families extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Kahut and his team at TGHCI, as well as Dr. Christiano and the compassionate caregivers at Lakeland Good Shepherd Hospice House. Their care and dedication brought comfort and peace during Megan's final days.
As we gather to celebrate Megan's life, we invite friends and family to share their memories and stories, to remember the laughter and love she brought into our lives. Her legacy is one of joy, compassion, and an unyielding love for her family, and it is in these memories that she will live on forever.
For those who wish to honor Megan's memory, the family kindly requests donations to a charity supporting early childhood education, a cause close to her heart.
Megan Halverson will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever shine brightly in the lives of those she touched.
