Mayme Louise Messenger Faulk

November 2, 1930 — January 21, 2026

Mayme Louise Messenger Faulk, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of the Sequim community, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on November 2, 1930, in the serene town of Sequim, Mayme was the daughter of Chauncy and Dorothy Messenger. Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Growing up in Sequim, Mayme embraced life with enthusiasm and grace. She graduated from Sequim High School in 1948, having been an Irrigation Festival Princess in both 1945 and 1948—a testament to her poise and charm. Although she briefly attended Clark County Community College, her devotion to family led her back home when her father was diagnosed with cancer. This act of selflessness was just one example of Mayme’s enduring commitment to her loved ones. Mayme's professional journey as a bookkeeper at Southwoods Variety Store and other local businesses reflected her keen mind and diligent work ethic. Beyond her career, she was a vibrant part of her community, contributing her time and talents to organizations close to her heart. A long-time member of The Little Brown Church of Blyn, the Sequim Soroptimist Club, and The Boys and Girls Club, Mayme’s service was driven by her belief in community and connection. Her love of simple pleasures, like picking blackberries and crafting them into delicious pies, reflected her joy in the everyday. Mayme was also known for her baking prowess, creating breads, cookies, and treats that brought comfort and joy to family and friends alike. Her nimble fingers produced beautiful knitted and sewn items, and her love of reading spoke to a lifelong curiosity and passion for learning. Mayme’s life was a tapestry woven with kindness, optimism, and love. She possessed a gentle nature and a happy disposition that drew others to her, forming lasting friendships that spanned decades. Her warmth and ability to see the bright side of life endeared her to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers George and Pete Messenger, her sister Phyllis Crosasso, and her beloved daughter Phyllis Faulk Meyer. Mayme leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family members: her sister Hazel Lowe; her children Les Faulk (Donna), Ed Faulk, Janice Cook, Rob Faulk (Colleen), Mickey Faulk, and Bill Faulk (Tracy). Her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored her, often visiting to bask in her love and wisdom. A celebration of Mayme’s life will be held on May 30, 2026, at 12:00 PM at The Little Brown Church of Blyn, located on Zaccardo Road, Blyn, Washington. The family invites those whose lives Mayme touched to join them in remembering her vibrant spirit and to pay tribute to her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Mayme’s honor to the Sequim Boys and Girls Club, Sequim Soroptimist Club, or The Little Brown Church of Blyn. These organizations reflect her lifelong commitment to community service. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Clallam County Volunteer Hospice Service for the compassionate and professional care they provided to Mayme in her final days. Your kindness and support were a great comfort during this difficult time. Mayme Louise Messenger Faulk’s legacy of love, kindness, and community will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
