It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Maya Rachell, who left this world on August 3, 2026. Born on January 14, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia, Maya was a radiant light in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her, even in her brief time with us. Maya's life, though short, was filled with love and warmth. She was the cherished daughter of Kim Rachell and Jason Gilbert, who brought her into a world where she touched many hearts. From the moment she entered this world, Maya brought immense joy and happiness, captivating everyone with her bright eyes and sweet smile. Maya was Christened at The House of Hope in Decatur, Georgia. This sacred place holds special significance for her family, especially her mother, Kim, who has been an active member for the past decade. The spiritual community there embraced Maya with open arms, providing love and support that will always be remembered. Maya passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends who adored her deeply. Her presence brought comfort and joy, and her memory will continue to be a source of strength and inspiration to those who loved her. Her family is immensely grateful for the outpouring of support and love from friends and extended family during this difficult time of grievance. They kindly ask for continued prayers, as they navigate the profound sorrow of losing their precious Maya. In accordance with the family's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Maya's life. While the gathering is intimate, the love and thoughts of all who cherished Maya are warmly felt and appreciated. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has reached out with kindness and compassion. Your support has been a beacon of light during these dark days. Please keep Maya's family in your thoughts and prayers, as they hold onto the cherished memories of a beautiful soul who blessed their lives so deeply. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to organizations that support children and families in need, in honor of Maya's loving spirit. May her brief but impactful life remind us all of the preciousness of time and the enduring power of love.
