It is with heavy hearts but profound gratitude for a life filled with love and joy that we announce the passing of our beloved Maya “Pika” Rodriguez, who left this world peacefully on May 2, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Kansas City , Mo.Born on October 21, 2011, Pika was a source of warmth and happiness for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Pika was a cherished member of the Rodriguez family, bringing endless joy and companionship to her parents, Donna and Jerry Rodriguez. She was welcomed into the world in the beautiful state of Colorado, where she quickly became the heart of her family.Pika filled her days with adventures and her heart with love. From a young age, Pika expressed a love for heights, always seeking the highest perch from which to observe her world. Her playful spirit and curiosity were matched only by her affection for her family. Whether basking in the sun, barking at every passing movement outside, or snuggling into her mommy’s lap, Pika’s presence was a comforting constant. Her love for turkey treats was well-known, and she had an uncanny ability to detect the scent of a banana from a mile away, much to the amusement of those around her. Pika’s gentle nature was evident in the way she greeted her family and friends. With a joyful leap and a soft lick, she welcomed everyone into her world, spreading warmth and happiness with every encounter. Her affectionate spirit was an inspiration, reminding us of the simple joys of life and the beauty of unconditional love. Pika is predeceased by her loving father Jerry, brother-in-law Quin,Grandpa & Joe. Her memory will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind, especially her devoted mother Donna who provided her with a life filled with love and happiness.Her sisters Trina and Sabrina, her brother Bop and her nieces Jia,Deon,and Bern. In this time of reflection, we find comfort in the belief that "All Dogs Go To Heaven," where Pika now rests, watching over us from the highest perch. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in our lives, reminding us to cherish every moment and love unconditionally.
