In Loving Memory

May Parker
October 15, 1960 — August 7, 2024
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt respect that we announce the passing of May Parker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. May was born on October 15, 1960, in Queens, New York, and left this world on August 7, 2024, under the most heroic of circumstances, protecting her cherished nephew, Peter Parker, from harm.
May was predeceased by her loving parents, Ned and Mary Parker. She faced the challenges of losing her father at the tender age of five and her mother at sixteen, steadfastly supported by her brother, Jack Parker. Despite these losses, May's resilience and determination shaped her into the remarkable woman we all knew and loved.
On July 6, 1978, May married the love of her life, Roger Harrington, at the American Dream Mall, embarking on a journey that would see them build a family filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Kye Xin Parker, Cayson Parker, and Onan Parker. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kye Xin Parker II and Cayson Parker II, who will forever carry the warmth of her spirit in their hearts.
An academic at heart, May graduated from Queens University with a Ph.D. in Algebra in 1988. She served her country with distinction in the navy as a General from 1990 to 1993. Her passion for teaching led her to Queens Public School, where she inspired young minds as a Pre-Algebra teacher from 1994 to 2003. Embracing her creativity, May transitioned to a career as an actress in Hollywood, a role she cherished until her passing.
May was a vibrant member of the National Queens Golf Club, where she enjoyed many moments of camaraderie and joy. Her interests were diverse, and she was known for her engaging conversations, often discussing current events with her children, always with her signature charming smile that touched everyone around her.
In addition to her immediate family, May is survived by her beloved nephew, Peter Parker, and a close friend, Casper Kuo, both of whom held a special place in her heart.
A celebration of May's extraordinary life will be held on October 31, 2024, at Glengarry Funeral Home, located at 520 Main St. The service will commence at 8:30 AM. May’s family wishes to express a special message: her money and house will be left untouched, preserving her legacy and honoring her wishes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in May's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
May Parker's life was a tapestry of love, courage, and unwavering strength. Her memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives she touched. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
