Max Louis Maxwell

Max Louis Maxwell, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on July 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 8, 1936, in Cedar City, Utah, Max was the beloved son of Louis Clow Maxwell and Mildred Agnes Olds. Max lived a life that was full of love, kindness, and dedication. A faithful friend and a selfless servant, he was known for his ability to see the best in everyone and everything. His joyful spirit and zest for life left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. As a devoted disciple, Max lived his life with unwavering faith and integrity, touching countless lives through his genuine acts of kindness and support. He was predeceased by his dear daughter Mona, and he leaves behind a legacy of love through his surviving family: his devoted wife of 67 years, Omah Lee Smith Maxwell, who shared a lifetime of memories with him; his daughters Lisa and Lindsay Taylor, and Paula and Darron Fletcher; his son Elden and Katie Maxwell; and his daughter Wanda and Stanislav Florian. Max was a proud grandfather to 24 grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to 29 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. A service to celebrate Max's remarkable life will be held on August 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Bloomington Hills Stake Center, located at 1130 E. Brigham Road, St. George, Utah. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Max are invited to come together to honor his memory and celebrate the profound impact he had on the world around him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Max's selfless spirit and his commitment to helping others. Max Louis Maxwell will be remembered for his unwavering love, his dedication to his family, and his enduring legacy of kindness and faith. His memory will forever be a guiding light to those who had the privilege of knowing him.
