Max was the cherished son of Robert Edward and Neva May Gilliam Carter, who instilled in him the values of compassion and generosity that he carried throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Keith Carter, and his niece Kristen Carter Johnson. In their memory, Max continued to honor their legacy through his actions and the stories he shared with his family.
Max met the love of his life, Charlotte "Jackie" Carter, with whom he shared a deep and enduring bond. They celebrated their marriage on July 25, 1973, embarking on a journey filled with adventure, mutual respect, and unwavering support. Their love story was an inspiration to many, marked by their shared laughter and the warmth they extended to everyone around them.
Max is survived by his devoted wife, Jackie, who stood by him through all of life's seasons. He also leaves behind his brother Charles Carter and sister-in-law Karen, sister-in-law Rachel Carter, and his nephews Jason Carter, Joshua Carter, and Jeremy Carter, along with his niece Julie Carter. Max's legacy lives on through his great-nieces and nephews Jacob, Faith, Sarah, Joshua, and Jeremy, and his great-great-nephew, Isaac Johnson, who will carry forward his spirit of kindness and generosity.
Known for his outgoing personality, Max had a unique ability to light up any room he entered, making friends effortlessly with his infectious smile and genuine interest in others. His kindness knew no bounds, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement.
In honor of Max's generous spirit, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, reflecting his belief in giving back and supporting causes close to the heart.
