Born on March 16, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri, Maurnita was the beloved daughter of the late King and Carol White. She was predeceased by her parents and her oldest brother, Clifford Drummond. Her memory will be forever cherished by her three devoted daughters: Ashontae Moralez King (Jonta), Azoria Moralez, and Aquella Moralez. Maurnita’s love was further extended to her four cherished grandchildren: Elijah Young, Sir Joshua Young, Brandon Henderson, and Melina King. Her spirit also lives on in her six siblings: Gerald White (Reatha), Cheryl White, King White (Sheila), Sandra White, Diane White, Tyron Moore, and a host of beloved nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
Maurnita's life was a testament to resilience and service. After graduating from Job Corps, where she earned her GED, she proudly served her country through the Army National Guard and the Army Reserves. Her commitment to service extended into her professional life, where she worked as a nurse caregiver in various nursing homes, and later, spreading her nurturing spirit to children at a daycare center.
A devoted member of Faith Miracle Temple in St. Louis, Maurnita found joy and solace in her faith community. Her beautiful singing voice was a gift she shared with others, often lifting the spirits of those around her. Known for her witty character and generous heart, Maurnita’s home was always open to those in need. It became a gathering place for her children’s friends, who were welcomed with warmth, meals, and plenty of snacks.
Maurnita's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers who devotedly tended to her needs with love and compassion.
