Maurice Robinson

Maurice Robinson, affectionately known as Mick, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, at the age of 67. Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, on September 12, 1958, Mick spent his life embodying the virtues of kindness, humor, and compassion. His gentle spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Mick was a devoted son to his beloved mother, Atlas Robinson, who survives him alongside his cherished uncle, aunt, and cousins residing in the DC and Virginia areas. Throughout his life, Mick formed deep and meaningful connections, nurturing significant relationships that reflected his loving and caring nature. A college graduate, Mick carved a distinguished career as a meeting planner, where his organizational skills and keen eye for detail shone brightly. Later, he found his true calling as a peer counselor, working with individuals struggling with substance abuse. In this role, Mick's compassion and infectious sense of humor brought hope and healing to many in need. His quick wit and friendly demeanor endeared him to everyone he met. Mick’s kindness and unwavering care for others were hallmarks of his personality, touching countless lives and leaving a legacy of love and empathy. Beyond his professional life, Mick was an avid traveler, finding joy in exploring the world, particularly Europe. He cherished the adventures he shared with his beloved mother, creating lasting memories that will be forever treasured. Mick's family and friends wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of the ICU at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. During his final days, their compassionate care provided comfort and dignity, for which the family is eternally grateful. A celebration of Mick's life will be held on May 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Strut, located at 470 Castro St., San Francisco, CA. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor a life well-lived, sharing stories and memories of a man who brought light and laughter into the world. Though Mick has left this earthly realm, his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. In our hearts, his laughter echoes, and his kindness shines brightly, a testament to a life filled with love and generosity.
