In Loving Memory

Maureen Lynne Soderlund
January 21, 1949 — April 7, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Lynne Soderlund, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Maureen was born on January 21, 1949, in Bangor, Maine, and peacefully departed this world on April 7, 2026, at her home, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Her strength, grace, and unwavering spirit were admired by all who knew her.
Maureen was the cherished daughter of the late Walter and V. Wilma Kane. Her parents instilled in her the values of kindness, compassion, and resilience, qualities that she carried throughout her life. Though she has now joined them in eternal peace, her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
On May 19, 1974, Maureen married the love of her life, Kenneth Soderlund. Together, they built a marriage that spanned nearly 52 years, filled with love, laughter, and a shared journey that touched countless lives. Kenneth, her devoted husband, remains to cherish the wonderful memories they created together.
Maureen was a proud and loving mother to her children, Eric Soderlund and his partner Angie Schillings, and Krista Callis and her husband Aaron. She adored her grandchildren, Jalen Callis and his wife Carris, Victoria Wright, Kenneth Wright, and Jacob Callis, and her great-grandchild, CJ Meininger. Each of them brought immeasurable joy to her life and were a testament to her enduring legacy of love.
Maureen is also survived by her dear sister, Janet Fugate, and her husband Greg of Phoenix, Arizona. Her nieces, Rachel Jones and her husband Hugh, Whitney Murto and her husband Bryan, and Kylie Durkin and her husband Ryan, will forever hold her in their hearts, remembering her for the warmth and wisdom she so generously shared.
A proud graduate of Terra Linda High School in San Rafael, California, Maureen pursued higher education at the College of Marin, where she earned a Science Associate Degree in 1970. Her passion for helping others led her to a distinguished career in healthcare, where she dedicated 35 years to assisting in oral surgery and emergency operations. Later, she continued her service to her country by working for the Department of Defense for 15 years, where her integrity and dedication were widely recognized.
Maureen's life was a testament to the power of love, strength, and kindness. Her gentle spirit, sense of humor, and genuine interest in the well-being of others left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She faced life's challenges with courage and grace, inspiring all who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family invites you to join them in celebrating Maureen's life. A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor her memory and the beautiful life she lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Maureen's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, an organization close to her heart.
Maureen Lynne Soderlund will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence. May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
