Maureen Hobin, a beloved sister, friend, and inspiration, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 21, 1953, in Framingham, Massachusetts, Maureen was the cherished daughter of John F. Hobin Jr. and Rhoda G. (Sullivan) Hobin. Her life, marked by resilience, creativity, and love, touched the hearts of all who knew her. Maureen spent her early years in Framingham, where she graduated from Framingham South High School in 1972. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to St. Francis College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975. With a keen mind and a passion for excellence, Maureen embarked on a distinguished career, starting as an administrative manager at Avery Dennison and later retiring with pride from Liberty Mutual. Beyond her professional achievements, Maureen was a true artist at heart. Her creativity found expression in her love for stained glass, beading, and jewelry making, with a particular fondness for crafting beautiful Christmas ornaments. Her artistic talents were a reflection of her vibrant spirit and zest for life. Maureen was a devoted sister and friend, known for her sharp wit, endearing strength, and compassionate heart. Her siblings, sister Deborah Hobin, wife of John Vanderlinden, brother John F. Hobin and his wife Nina, and brother Michael F. Hobin, were blessed to have her as a steadfast source of support and love. Her courage and determination were a testament to her astonishing will to live, and she inspired all who had the privilege of knowing her. In honoring Maureen’s memory, the family invites those who wish to make a donation to a charity of their choice.
