Maureen (Carney) Hogan

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Maureen (Carney) Hogan on May 20, 2026, at the age of 75. Maureen's final days were spent surrounded by the love and care of family, and she departed this world with the same grace and warmth with which she lived.
Born on April 13, 1951, in Medford, Massachusetts, Maureen was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas J. Carney, Jr. and Marianne (Rezendes) Carney. Raised in a nurturing family environment, Maureen carried forward her parents' legacy of kindness and compassion throughout her life.
Maureen attended Medford High School, graduating in 1969, and went on to carve a diverse career path in the retail industry. Her career included roles with esteemed companies such as Filenes, Dunkin Donuts in management, and TJ Maxx, where she was known for her dedication and ability to make those around her feel valued and supported.
In October 1974, Maureen married the love of her life, Robert J. Hogan. Together, they built a life rich in love and adventure, sharing countless memories from their bike rides, vacations in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, and cherished moments on the beaches of Cape Cod. They were also avid NASCAR Racing fans, holding season tickets and enjoying the thrill of the race together.
A woman of many talents, Maureen found joy in hobbies such as tole painting and embroidery. Her artistic touch and attention to detail were evident in every piece she created. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Maureen was an active member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Medford, MA, and participated in various community organizations, embodying a spirit of service and dedication.
Maureen was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert, and her loving parents. She is survived by her siblings, Thomas J. Carney, 3rd and his wife Marian, Nancy L. (Carney) Haugh and her husband William, David J. Carney; her dear sister-in-law Marcia (Hogan) Schell and her husband Dan, brother-in-law Ted Hogan; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, all of whom will deeply miss her warm smile, quick wit, and the ease with which she made everyone feel at home.
Her service will be held on June 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Woodbrook Cemetery, located at 100 Salem St, Woburn, MA, where family and friends will gather to celebrate and honor Maureen's life.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Bear Mountain in Andover, MA, for their dedicated support and compassion during Maureen’s final journey.
As her sister fondly recalls, whenever someone said "I love you," Maureen always replied with "I love you more," a testament to her boundless affection and the deep impact she had on all who knew her. Maureen's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
