It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Mattie Grace Storms, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world on May 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in the vibrant city of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mattie graced this world with her presence and luminous smile, which could light up the darkest of days. Her legacy of love, strength, and resilience remains with us, a beacon guiding us through life’s journey. Mattie was the beloved daughter of Jeffrey and Mary Storms, who instilled in her the values of compassion, kindness, and hard work. These principles guided her throughout her life and were evident in her dedication to her career at the post office, where she was a respected and valued colleague. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her devotion to her family. Married to her soulmate, Rodrick Storms, Mattie crafted a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring partnership. Together, they built a family and a home that became the heart of their community. Mattie’s nurturing spirit and boundless love are carried on by her devoted husband and their two children, Rodrick Storms Jr. and Brandy Israel Storms. Her children were her pride and joy, and she poured her heart into raising them with love and wisdom. As the cherished matriarch of a large and vibrant family, Mattie’s greatest joy was found in her grandchildren: Jacob Storms, Ariyah Storms, Mikhael Israel, Kaliyah Israel, Yeriyel Israel, Asiyel Israel, Shamariyah Israel, Serayah Israel, Raphael Israel, Periyel Israel, and Kayah Israel. She delighted in being a part of their lives, offering them guidance, warmth, and endless stories that will be passed down for generations. Her legacy extends even further to her four great-grandchildren, who will grow up with tales of their great-grandmother’s kindness and courage. Mattie had a profound love for gardening, transforming her backyard into a colorful haven of peace and beauty. Her hands nurtured each plant as she nurtured those around her, with patience and care. She took great joy in cooking for her family, creating meals that were as filled with love as they were with flavor. Bowling was another of her passions, and she enjoyed the camaraderie and fun it brought, sharing countless laughs and memories with friends and family alike. Those who knew Mattie will remember her as a woman with the best smile you’ve ever seen—a smile that could uplift anyone who encountered it. Her warmth, empathy, and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She inspired all with her resilience, strength, and unwavering faith in the goodness of life. A celebration of Mattie’s life will take place on May 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, located at 2082 Compton Road. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Mattie are invited to join and honor her memory, reflecting on the profound impact she had on all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a cancer research charity of your choice, in the hope that one day a cure will be found for the disease that took her from us too soon. Mattie Grace Storms will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love and joy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
