It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Matthew Ray Tyson, who left us far too soon on February 28, 2026. Born on March 20, 1992, in Ottawa, Kansas, Matthew was a beacon of joy and warmth to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Matthew was a cherished son to his devoted mother, Marilyn Reed, and his loving stepfather, James Reed. He was the adored brother of Amy Tyson and the proud father of his son, Matt Jr., who was the light of his life. Matthew was predeceased by his father, Randy Tyson, his precious daughter, Madison Tyson, his grandparents Margie and Bill Adams, and his uncle, Billy Adams. Their memories continue to live on in our hearts, and we find comfort in the thought that Matthew has joined them in eternal peace. A dedicated and hardworking man, Matthew spent his career as a forklift operator in St. Louis, Missouri. His colleagues fondly remember him not just for his exceptional skills and work ethic, but for his infectious laughter and the camaraderie he brought to the workplace. Matthew’s passions were as vibrant as his personality. He was an avid fisherman, finding solace and joy on the peaceful waters. His love for music was evident in his frequent visits to concerts, where he could lose himself in the rhythm and energy of live performances. Perhaps most of all, Matthew cherished the thrill of car races, where he could share his enthusiasm with fellow fans and friends. To know Matthew was to experience his genuine smile, one that could light up any room. He possessed a unique gift for humor, often lifting spirits with his quick wit and comic abilities. Matthew was not just a friend to many but a hero to his son, Matt Jr., who will forever hold dear the lessons and love his father imparted. Though his years were few, Matthew’s impact was immense. His absence leaves a void in the lives of many, including a large extended family and countless friends who deeply loved him. Matthew's legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. In accordance with his family's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Matthew's life. While his physical presence will be profoundly missed, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate to call him family and friend. As we mourn the loss of Matthew Ray Tyson, let us also celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Rest peacefully, dear Matthew, knowing you are forever loved and remembered.
