Matthew Fraser, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 44, due to complications with AIDS. Born on May 15, 1982, in Miami, Florida, Matthew brought warmth, kindness, and joy to all who knew him. Matthew was the cherished son of Simion and Antwanette Fraser, who instilled in him the values of compassion and resilience. Predeceased by his grandparents, Fagan and Linda, Matthew grew up in a family that celebrated love and togetherness. He remained deeply connected to his siblings, Loretta Jefferson (Harry), Olivia Amerson (Jason), and Michael, with whom he shared countless memories. In 2001, Matthew married the love of his life, Shay Fraser, and together, they built a life filled with laughter and love. Their bond was an exemplar of devotion and strength, and their love story was an inspiration to all who knew them. They were blessed with four wonderful children: JDen, Jazzmyn, Taylor, and Matthew Jr., who were the light of Matthew's life. He was a dedicated father whose unwavering support and affection were evident in every aspect of his children's lives. Matthew pursued his education at Blanche Ely High School in Broward County, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. He embarked on a career in the culinary arts, working as a chef for Victory Cruise and later as a manager at McDonald's. His passion for cooking was matched only by his love for bringing people together around a shared meal. A man of many interests, Matthew was deeply engaged in religious studies and took great joy in blessing homes. His love for card games like Spades and Tonk brought him closer to friends and family, as he was always the life of the party. His warmth and humor made him a delight to be around, and his presence was a balm to anyone in need. A celebration of Matthew's life will be held on September 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Revival Tabernacle, located at 2085 NW 97th Street. Family, friends, and all those whose lives Matthew touched are invited to join in honoring his memory and celebrating the remarkable life he led. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Matthew's honor to support AIDS research and awareness. Matthew's legacy is one of love, compassion, and resilience, and he will forever be remembered for the beautiful impact he had on the world around him.
