Matthew David Garza
January 7, 1992 — June 1, 2026
Matthew David Garza, a man whose presence was as warm as a summer’s day and whose heart was as generous as the skies are wide, passed away unexpectedly on June 1, 2026, at the age of 34, in a tragic car accident. Born on January 7, 1992, in Lansing, Michigan, Matthew was a beacon of joy and strength to all who knew him. His life, though cut short, was filled with immense love and remarkable dedication to his family and community.
Matthew was the cherished son of David (Laurie) Garza and Tina, and he grew up surrounded by the nurturing support of his family. He was predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Herby and Maria Garza, whose values and love he carried forward into his own family.
Matthew's life was graced by his devoted wife, Jessie Garza, with whom he shared a bond that inspired all who witnessed it. Together, they were blessed with four beautiful children: Matthew, Isabella, Alianna, and Anthony. As a father, Matthew was the epitome of love and dedication, always putting his family at the forefront of his life. His children were his world, and he was theirs—a guiding light who taught them the importance of kindness, integrity, and resilience.
He is also survived by his brother, David Garza, and his wife Karen, and his sister, Alyssa MacArthur, and her wife Amanda. Matthew was an adored uncle to many nieces and nephews, to whom he was a source of endless fun and wisdom. His family extended beyond bloodlines, as he was a beloved friend to many, known for his infectious laughter, his ready smile, and his unwavering loyalty.
Matthew had a passion for living life to its fullest. He was a man of many interests, but above all, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—playing catch with his kids, sharing stories around a family dinner, and being the beloved father he was. His hobbies were woven into the fabric of his daily life, bringing happiness to those around him.
A service to celebrate Matthew’s life will be held on June 6, 2026, at Palmer Bush & Jensen. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Matthew are invited to gather and honor his memory, sharing stories and cherishing the legacy he leaves behind.
In this time of grief, we find solace in knowing that Matthew’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed—a man whose life was a testament to love, family, and the beauty of living each day with purpose and gratitude. May his memory be a blessing and his soul find eternal peace.
