Fishing provided him with peace and a connection to nature, while woodworking allowed him to create beauty with his hands. His wide array of interests showcased his insatiable curiosity and zest for life.
Matthew's friends and family fondly remember his remarkable memory and quick wit. Known for his perfect recall, he was never one to lose an argument, much to the amusement of those around him. His infectious smile and playful spirit were encapsulated in his frequent refrain, "Well, I thought it was funny," uttered whenever he engaged in a spontaneous and humorous act. Matthew had a unique ability to make people smile, brightening the lives of everyone he encountered.
