It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Matt Ainslie, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Matthew left this world peacefully on October 23, 2026, at Albany Med Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Born on October 16, 1983, in Herkimer, NY, Matthew's life was a testament to joy, creativity, and resilience. Matthew moved into Pineridge IRA 2011 with 5 other residents that he consider his brothers. Matthew was a treasured member of his family, deeply loved by his parents, his sister, and his niece and nephew. His family was the cornerstone of his happiness, and he brought immense joy to their lives with his bright smile and loving nature. He will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him. He pursued his education at Margaret Chapman School and BOCES, where he developed a passion for learning and made many lifelong friends. Matthew's career was marked by his dedication and hard work in pre-vocational training, community habilitation, and at CDS, where he made a lasting impact with his kindness and commitment. A passionate participant in Special Olympics, Matthew exemplified the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. His love for sports extended beyond his own participation, as he was an avid fan who enjoyed watching a variety of sports. His interests were as varied as they were vibrant; Matthew found joy in painting, attending concerts and movies, and engaging in the thrill of wrestling. He loved music, often seen with his Nintendo Switch in hand, and could spend hours immersed in complex puzzles. Matthew Anislie's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and light. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace, and may his spirit continue to inspire kindness and joy in the world.
