With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Matt William, who departed this world peacefully in his sleep on July 27, 2026, at the age of 3. Born on March 5, 2023, in the vibrant city of Miami, Florida, Matt was a cherished son to Jon Wade and Wanda Prince. Matt’s journey through life, though tragically brief, was filled with joy, laughter, and boundless love. He spent his early years bringing immeasurable happiness and warmth to those around him. His parents recall with fondness his infectious giggles and the way his smile could brighten even the darkest of days, as if it could reach the very depths of the ocean's abyss. Matt started his educational path at King High School, where he formed friendships and memories that would last a lifetime. He continued his education at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, where he pursued his interests with enthusiasm and dedication. For 43 years, Matt found fulfillment and purpose in his career as a school bus driver. He was a familiar and comforting presence for the many students who rode his bus, always greeting them with a kind word and a joke to start their day with a smile. His love for adventure and the great outdoors was evident in his avid passion for fishing, swimming, and biking. These activities brought him serenity and joy, allowing him to connect with nature and embrace the beauty of the world around him. Matt was also actively involved in his faith as a devoted member of Christ and found camaraderie and excitement as a part of the Jeep Motor Club, where he shared his love for the open road with like-minded enthusiasts. Matt will be remembered for his genuine kindness, his great sense of humor, and his unwavering ability to bring light to every room he entered. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories and laughter he gave them. A celebration of Matt's life will be held on July 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Leo’s Funeral Home, located at 812 W 75th Pl. We invite all who knew and loved Matt to join us in honoring his remarkable life and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Matt's memory, as a way to honor his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
