Matt Spenser

January 7, 1958 — June 22, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Matt Spenser, a beloved son, devoted friend, and steadfast pillar of his community. Matt left us on June 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, camaraderie, and a life well-lived. Born on January 7, 1958, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Matt was a man who lived with a quick wit, a generous spirit, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. Matt was the cherished son of Brad and Marilyn Spenser, who predeceased him and now welcome him into eternal rest. From a young age, Matt demonstrated an adventurous spirit and a deep sense of duty, leading him to serve with honor in the United States Marine Corps from 1976 to 1980. His time in the Marines forged a resilience and strength that would define his character throughout his life. In 2011, Matt embarked on a new journey, founding Matt's Bar, a cherished establishment where laughter, stories, and friendships flowed as freely as the drinks he generously poured. To many, Matt's Bar was more than just a place to gather; it was a haven of warmth and kindness, anchored by Matt's welcoming presence and his ability to turn strangers into lifelong friends. His patrons and the regulars of Matt's Bar, who he counted as family, will forever remember him as the heart and soul of their community. Matt's quick wit was legendary, a source of joy and laughter that brightened the days of all who knew him. He was a friend to many, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. His generosity, especially with his liquor, was a testament to his belief in the power of shared moments and the bonds they create. Though Matt has left us far too soon, his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched. He is survived by his loyal friends and the community of regulars at Matt's Bar, each of whom carries a piece of his enduring legacy. They will continue to celebrate his life, raise a glass in his honor, and keep his memory alive through the stories and laughter they share. As we bid farewell to Matt, let us remember him not with sadness, but with gratitude for the time we had with him. He was a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and gave generously. May his memory serve as a reminder of the beauty of a life dedicated to kindness, friendship, and the simple joy of bringing people together. Rest in peace, dear Matt. You will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
