In Loving Memory

Matilde Padilla
March 14, 1979 — July 29, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Matilde Padilla, a beloved wife, mother, and friend. Matilde was born on March 14, 1979, and departed this world on July 29, 2026, after a courageous battle with liver disease. Her journey, though challenging, was marked by her unwavering strength and the love she shared with all around her.
Matilde's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of love, kindness, and joy. Those who had the privilege of knowing her will forever be inspired by her spirit. She had an incredible ability to touch hearts, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her presence in our lives was a precious gift, and we never wanted to imagine a world without her in it.
A devoted partner and loving spouse, Matilde shared 27 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Julio Melgar. Together, they built a family filled with love and cherished memories. Matilde was a proud and nurturing mother to her children, Daniel, Ruth, David, and Joel Melgar, and a doting grandmother to her two beloved grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being.
Matilde gave so much of herself to others, always offering a warm hug, sage advice, and unwavering support. Now, it is time for her to rest, free from pain and watching over us with her gentle spirit. We find solace in knowing she is at peace, forever in our hearts and guiding us from above.
A service to honor Matilde's life will be held on August 8, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Arlington Cemetery, located at 801-811 S Mary St. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Matilde's memory.
As we say our final goodbyes, we carry Matilde's love and warmth with us. She is gone from this world, but never from our hearts. Thank you, Matilde, for every hug, every piece of advice, and every sacrifice. You will be forever in our hearts.
With love and remembrance,
The Melgar Family
