With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Mason Jones, who left this world on May 27, 2026, at the tender age of 12. Born on June 10, 2013, in Kankakee, Illinois, Mason was a beacon of light, joy, and laughter to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mason was the cherished son of Mike Jones and Amanda Deondrea, who lovingly nurtured his vibrant spirit and inquisitive mind. His untimely departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Though his life was brief, Mason's impact was profound, and the memories of his sweet smile and loving nature will remain in our hearts forever.
A student at Limestone Middle School, Mason was known for his lively spirit and curiosity. He was a beacon of youthful enthusiasm, always eager to learn and grow. His school community will remember him as a bright and kind soul, whose presence brought joy and warmth to classrooms and hallways.
Mason found great joy in fishing, a hobby he treasured deeply. Whether by a serene lake or a gentle stream, Mason found peace and adventure in those moments, often accompanied by his family and friends. His love for fishing was more than a pastime; it was a testament to his appreciation for life's simple pleasures and his love for spending time with those he held dear.
He was a devoted grandson, actively participating in church activities with his grandparents at the Peotone Church. His faith and love for community were evident in the way he cherished these moments, providing a source of strength and connection for him and those around him.
Mason is predeceased by his loving uncle and grandfather, who undoubtedly greeted him with open arms. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A service to celebrate Mason's life will be held on June 1, 2026, at 2:50 PM at Emmanuel Church, located at 523 West 1000 Rd, Peotone, Illinois. Family, friends, classmates, and all whose lives Mason touched are invited to attend and honor his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Limestone Middle School. These contributions will help support programs and initiatives that Mason cherished during his time there, allowing his spirit to continue to inspire and uplift others.
Mason Jones may have left this world too soon, but his spirit, laughter, and love will eternally reside within us. As we say goodbye, we hold on to the joyous memories and the light he brought into our lives. Rest in peace, dear Mason. You are forever loved and never forgotten.
