Masheala D. Duvall

It is with profound sadness and yet with a sense of celebration for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Masheala D. Duvall, who departed from this world on September 13, 2026. Masheala was born on May 20, 1955, in Montgomery County, Maryland, where she remained during her lifetime. Masheala was a beacon of love, strength, and compassion to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Masheala was predeceased by her mother- Estelle Gosha-Duvall, stepfather- Willie Gosha, brothers-Levone Duvall, Alroy Stringer Duvall, and Thomas Duvall, and her great-granddaughter, Krystenne. She is survived by her cherished children, Dawntay Duvall, Tyrone Martin, Frederick Gamble, and Elaine Byfield, son- in- law- Inskip Paul, as well as her siblings, Dorette Ellison, Sharleta Duvall, Deborah Gosha, Natasha Gosha, Leroy Duvall, Cornell Davis, and Darren Duvall. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Delonte, Dominique, Olivia, Adrian, Ilani, Zamira, Luna, Ari, Leana, and Roman, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Masheala received her education within the Montgomery County Public Schools system. Her career journey was one of care and dedication. She spent her life caring for children as a daycare provider. Her work was not just a job but a passion as she cared for and loved each child and family she worked with. She attended services with Bible Way Church of Washington, DC. Masheala found joy and solace in her faith. Especially through difficult times in her life. She leaned on her faith as a source of strength. Her hobbies included spending precious time with her grandchildren and engaging in heartfelt conversations with family and friends. She had a particular affinity for gospel music and cooking. Masheala was renowned for her loving and giving spirit, always ready to extend a helping hand, a listening ear, or a hearty laugh. She had a unique ability to connect with people, offering kindness and understanding, yet she was never afraid to speak her mind. Her deep love and passionate care for the people in her life were evident in every interaction. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has come together to remember Masheala. Her indelible impact on so many lives will be cherished forever. As we reflect on Masheala's life, we are comforted by the words of Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." May this promise of God's closeness bring peace to all who grieve her loss, reminding us that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved.
