April 11, 1964 — October 30, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Marzell Windham, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on April 11, 1964, in the warm embrace of Laurel, Mississippi, Marzell brought joy and laughter into the world until he peacefully departed on October 30, 2026, surrounded by the comfort and care of hospice. Marzell was the beloved son of the late Marzell Windham Sr. and Ida Lee Windham. He was predeceased by his dear sister, Mary Windham, whose memory he always carried close to his heart. He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Windham, who stood by his side with unwavering love and support. A proud father, Marzell cherished his daughter, Precious Strickland, and found immense joy in the laughter and growth of his granddaughter, Jumesha Windham. His sister, Jacqueline Windham, shared a special bond with him, one of love and mutual respect. Marzell's family extended beyond blood, as he forged deep, meaningful connections with friends he considered family. Marzell pursued his education at R.H. Watkins in Laurel, Mississippi, before furthering his skills through enrollment in Job Corps. His strong work ethic was evident through his dedication in various roles at poultry plants, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Known for his love of the outdoors, Marzell found peace in the freedom it offered. A voracious reader and a fan of both scary and action movies, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. His sense of humor was infectious, often lightening the hearts of those around him with his jokes and warm spirit. Marzell's generosity was boundless—he would quite literally give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate doctors, hospice staff at Parkview, and the dedicated team at Eden Memorial in Iowa, whose care and kindness supported Marzell and his loved ones through his final journey. In honor of Marzell Windham's life and legacy, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate the many beautiful moments he shared with those who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Marzell's memory. Though Marzell Windham may have left this world, his spirit and the memories of his kindness, laughter, and love will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
