Maryann Riley

With heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss, we announce the peaceful passing of Maryann Riley on July 19, 2026, just shy of her 89th birthday. Born on July 31, 1937, to Joseph and Cora Fava, Maryann graced the world with her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family. Maryann's life was a tapestry of love and resilience, woven together with cherished memories and a deep appreciation for the simple beauties of life. She grew up with an innate curiosity and a zest for learning, which she carried throughout her life. Her education was a testament to her dedication and a foundation for the many interests she pursued. In the mid-1957 Maryann married the love of her life, Roger Riley, in a beautiful ceremony in Wappingers Falls, NY. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and love. Though Roger and their daughter Sharon Riley Murray have since passed, their memory lives on through the enduring legacy of their family. Maryann is survived by her devoted daughters, Cathy Stecher and Lisa LaSante, who, along with her husband Shane, carry forward the values and traditions she held dear. Her grandchildren, Sarah Watson (Jason) Zach Stecher (Lindsay), Cody Stecher, and Alex LaSante (Jenna) , were the light of her life, bringing her immense joy and pride. Maryann's legacy extends to her great-grandchildren, Alexis and Jason Watson, and a new great granddaughter due in Oct. also coming in January a new great great grandbaby . who will continue to be inspired by her remarkable spirit. A woman of many passions, Maryann found solace and joy in the serene beaches of Maine, where the rhythmic waves mirrored her tranquil soul. She was an avid quilter, crafting pieces that were as warm as they were beautiful, each stitch a testament to her patience and love. Maryann also held a deep interest in the Indian heritage of her local area, always eager to learn and appreciate the rich history and culture around her. In honor of her memory, the family has chosen the Alzheimer's Association - National Office in Chicago, IL, as a preferred recipient for donations. This cause was close to Maryann's heart, and contributions in her name would be a fitting tribute to her compassionate nature. Maryann's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Our House for their exceptional care and compassion during her final days. Your kindness provided comfort and dignity to Maryann and will forever be remembered by her loved ones.
